Healthy Meal Prep Snacks that are Super Easy to Make Ahead

Are you looking for some healthy meal prep snacks? These healthy snack boxes are easy make ahead snacks that you can take on the go, or grab when needed.

Having healthy snacks on hand on makes eating healthy so much easier. Often when you are hungry you search for the easiest, quickest thing to eat. Make a bunch of these snack boxes when you do food prep for the week, so that you have options that are easy and good for you too.

These snack boxes are great for adults and kids!

All of the snacks included are clean eating snacks, and most are gluten free, Whole 30 and Paleo friendly, and many are dairy free as well.

These snacks would be a great addition to this one week clean eating meal plan.

But perhaps the best thing about these meal prep snacks is that you just put them together, rather than having to actually make a whole recipe.

Meal Prep Snack Boxes

We tried to make these boxes low carb, high protein and super easy to make. While some of the boxes do require some chopping, there are a few that can be thrown together without having to take out the cutting board. Especially, if you take the short cut of buying pre chopped ingredients.

It can help to have a clean eating grocery list.

Once you get the hang of making the meal prep snacks listed here it can take less than 10 minutes to throw a few together.

Snack Prep Strategy

  • Pick one box from below and make 2-4 of the same box
  • Pick 2 boxes with similar ingredients and make 2-3 of each
  • Pick 3 boxes and make 2 of each

Snack meal prep supplies

For snack prep you’ll need some basic items

  1. Reusable 3 compartment storage containers with lids (these are the glass ones used below) (these are the plastic ones)
  2. Cutting Board
  3. Knife
  4. Spoons

Now on to the snacks.

The Fruit Snack Box

Fresh fruit can be great to grab when you are having sugar cravings. Chose low-glycemic fruits like the ones in this box.

What inside:

  • Peaches
  • Blueberries
  • Strawberries

The Hummus Meal Prep Snack Box

Hummus is a great high protein snack that pairs nicely with grain free crackers and veggies.

What inside:

Chopping required? YES (unless you buy pre chopped)

The Peanut Butter Veggie Snack Box

Inspired by ants on a log from childhood, this cinnamon peanut butter dip makes it easy to woof down your veggies.

What inside:

  • Celery sticks
  • Baby carrots
  • Peanut Butter Dip – 3 tbsp peanut butter, 1 tbsp coconut oil, 1 tsp honey, dash cinnamon – mix well right in container, no extra bowl needed

Chopping required? YES (unless you buy pre chopped)

The Berry Protein Meal Prep Snack Box

A high protein box that is good for snacks, or even on the go breakfast.

What inside:

Chopping required? YES, strawberries

The Superfood Snack Box

A great snack for loading up on nutrients.

What inside:

  • Avocado – sea salt & lemon
  • Celery sticks
  • Almonds
  • Baby carrots
  • Hummus

Chopping required? YES, celery and avocado

Note – If making a few of these ahead, wait to cut the avocado until ready to eat, to prevent it from turning brown.

The Sweet & Savory Meal Prep Snack Box

Fairly easy to throw together and a nice balance of salty and sweet.

What inside:

Chopping required? YES Kiwi

The Protein Power Meal Prep Snack Box

Load up on protein with this snack box.

What inside:

  • Peanut Butter Dip – 3 tbsp peanut butter, 1 tbsp coconut oil, 1 tsp honey, dash cinnamon
  • Trail Mix
  • Deviled eggs
  • Carrot sticks

Chopping required? YES, carrots and pre make deviled eggs.

The Healthy Bites Snack Box

Little bites with a big reward and easy to make ahead.

What inside:

Chopping required? YES, strawberries

Veggie and Avocado Dip Snack Box

A light, yet filling dip with a variety of veggies. Also goes well with tortilla chips.

What inside:

  • Cucumbers
  • Celery
  • Cauliflower
  • Avocado Dip – 1 avocado mashed, 2 tbsp sour cream, dash salt, juice 1/2 lime, mix well and store in separate small storage container (like this one)

Chopping required? YES, celery, cauliflower (unless you buy pre chopped)

The Breastfeeding Snack Prep Box

The perfect meal prep snack for breastfeeding moms.

What inside:

Chopping required? No

The Kitchen Sink Meal Prep Snack Box

A little of this and a little of that from leftovers found around the kitchen.

What inside:

  • Hummus
  • Grapes
  • Boiled egg
  • Slice cheese
  • Roma tomato & sea salt
  • Leftover fall apart roast – don’t be afraid to add leftover meat from dinner into your snack boxes, it’s a excellent way to get more protein, plus reduce food waste.

Healthy meal prep snack boxes with easy clean eating snack ideas for the whole family.

Ingredients

  • Peaches
  • Blueberries
  • Strawberries
  • Hummus
  • Sliced Carrots
  • Baby Tomatoes
  • Grain free Crackers
  • Peanut Butter
  • Coconut Oil
  • Cinnamon
  • Honey
  • Boiled eggs
  • Beef Jerky
  • Almonds
  • Avocado
  • Kiwi
  • Satsuma (mandarin, clementine)
  • Trail Mix
  • Cucumbers
  • Cauliflower
  • Avocado Dip
  • Sour cream
  • Lime
  • Lactation protein bites
  • Raspberries
  • Chocolate Lactation Overnight Oats
  • Grapes
  • Slice cheese
  • Roma tomato

Instructions

  1. Chop and/or slice peaches, strawberries, celery, carrots, cucumbers and kiwi.
  2. Boil eggs
  3. Make avocado dip - 1 avocado mashed, 2 tbsp sour cream, dash salt, juice 1/2 lime, mix well
  4. Make peanut putter - 3 tbsp peanut butter, 1 tbsp coconut oil, 1 tsp honey, dash cinnamon - mix well
  5. Divide ingredients into reusable 3 compartment storage containers with lids.
  6. Seal and store in the fridge for up to 1 week.

Notes

Mix and match ingredients as you like.

  1. These were so easy to make! Thank you for all the tips! I made 3 each of the fruit box and the hummus box. Both were delicious and I was so glad to have healthy snacks ready to eat throughout the week!

  2. Such great ideas here! I made the one with trail mix for my son today as a surprise. 🙂 I’m sure he’s going to love it when he sees it! Also, darn you for those peach photos. 😄 I desperately want some peaches now! Only have about 6 months to wait. 😆
