  1. I love chocolate as much as anybody else, and would love to enjoy its mood/energy-boosting effects postpartum, but all three of my breastfed little ones were very sensitive to any caffeine in my diet, including small amounts of chocolate, well into toddlerhood (my 2 year old woke up multiple times a few nights ago and had difficulty going back to sleep after I had indulged in a small handful (maybe 15) chocolate chips the morning before).
I’m sure I’m not the only one whose baby is affected by chocolate.

    • Thanks for you comment Teresa! Great point! I will add a note about this near the beginning to help other Moms. Some many notice reflux in their babies as well after eating chocolate. So it’s definitely something to be aware of. Generally though most Moms will notice a decrease in the effects of chocolate on baby after they reach about 7-8 mos.
